This is an informal greeting to touch base with you and offer some helpful information. With Summer winding down, school will be underway in less than two weeks. Again, it has flown by and our long days are shortening. We hope your family has enjoyed some vacation time together.
Enclosed you will find a copy of the school calendar and a supply list for our lower elementary students. Older students should come prepared with basic school supplies and each classroom teacher will inform them of what they need once school commences.
A reminder that polo shirts for elementary students will be in for pick up on Fri., Sept. 2 between 4:00 and 6:00 or Tues., Sept. 6 from 10:00 to 3:00.
School will start on Wed., Sept. 7th at 8:15. Arrival can be anytime after 8:00 a.m. Please do not drop your children off before 8:00 unless they are enrolled in the before school program. Our teaching staff will be in meetings and not available to supervise your child prior to 8:00. The school day has been extended a bit and dismissal will be at 2:45. All students should be picked up promptly unless they are participating in after school activities. Students remaining after 2:55 will be put in after school care and charged accordingly.
When dropping your child, please stay to the right of the driveway to allow for flow of traffic. If you are coming into the building, pull ahead and park just beyond the driveway so not to interfere with others wanting to drop off their children.
Regarding Pre-school, K4 students will attend school Wed., Thurs. and Fri. the first week of school and Mon., Wed., Fri. thereafter. K3 students will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting on Sept. 13th. Pick up time for Pre-school students is 11:55 for half day students and 2:45 for full day.
Childcare for before and after school care will still be available this year from 7:00-8:00 and following school until 5:30 p.m. Please contact Mrs. Philbrick or Mrs. Niles if services are needed. As a state licensed facility, we are able to provide for Vaucher and the Aspire Programs.
A night to meet the staff, meet other parents and get information for the school year is being provided on Thursday night, Sept. 8th at our Parent Potluck Supper at 7:00 p.m. We ask that both parents attend, but if that is not possible then at least one of you come.
Don't forget to check the website for activities, upcoming events, etc. and the sports website for schedules, game sites, times and game results. www.highviewchristianacademy.org.
